We always quote prices upfront.  At HBA Encompass we believe billing our clients in arrears by an hourly rate is an outdated process and one that discourages us from working quickly and efficiently – it’s simply not in our clients best interest.  Where possible we prefer a fixed monthly fee – it’s better for our clients cashflow and encourages you to contact us during the year if you have any questions or decisions to bounce off us.

Yes all our accountants work our of our Birtinya office.  We believe that having face to face contact with your accountant is essential.  If this can’t be done by physical meetings, Zoom is always available.

No, our initial meeting is for us to get to know you and you to get to know us..  Once we have had an initial meeting which includes discussing what services and assistance you require, then we will prepare a proposal of work to be completed which must be signed off prior to work commencing.

Cloud software is amazing, we love it and work with it all day, every day.  Working with an accountant such as HBA Encompass ensures that you are making the best of your cloud solution.  Not only that, we are up to date with changes to Taxation Laws and how changes to these effect your business. We also an advise on a timely basis to help you grow and protect your investments. 

We sure do! Tricia Bielby is our in-house SMSF guru who can help make the transition to a SMSF a breeze.  We work with your Financial Planner or can provide advice in House to meet your needs.

Whilst we love Xero, we know that not everyone aspires to be a bookkeeper and in fact, many people don’t want to do the bookwork.  We have our own bookkeeping businesss “The Bookkeeper Hub” which provides cost-effective bookkeeping solutions.

We are focused on Business and Investor clients as we believe we can provide them with the most advice and assistance.  We do not just “do tax returns” for individuals unless you fit into one of those criteria – there are other advisors out there who can provide those services in a more cost-effective manner than we can.

We love Xero.  Whilst Xero is our preference, we understand it’s not for everyone.  We have a great knowledge of other popular programs such as Reckon, Quickbooks and MYOB.  In fact we can pretty much work with any system but cloud based does make life more efficient.

Technology is amazing, gone are the days of having to travel to face to face meetings.  Whilst we love to catch up with our clients face to face, it’s not mandatory. We can use tools like Zoom or skype to catch up with clients wherever they may be.  Couple this with cloud software and/or storage and we can assist you from anywhere, in fact we have a client who is currently living in Ukraine!

Cloud Storage is awesome!  We generally recommend linking your Xero to Receipt Bank and using the storage ability in Xero to keep copy of important documents.  Other than that, we can discuss your personal situation and assist you to come up with a solution that suits you.

No it’s not.  The most important thing about changing accountants is making sure you forge a great relationship with them.  We take care of contacting your previous accountant to get copies of prior returns and workpapers, in most cases they provide what we ask for but sometimes we may need to get some information directly from you.  It’s not as hard as you think.
